True Blood

I’ve also started watching Alan Ball’s (of Six Feet Under fame) new Vampire drama, True Blood. It is a delicious delve into a parallel world to ours where vampires are real and being integrated into society as a life sustaining drink called Tru Blood becomes available that is a blood subsitute for these vampires allowing them to lead ‘normal’ lives. Buffy this is not and yet it is extremely watchable especially with the lovely Anna Paquin at the helm.

The opening credits are great but the video I’ve featured here is the original featurette that the title sequence is based upon. The differences are that it has no credits or text and the music is different. It also keeps the original audio tracks. It’s a really great little film in its own right. Intoxicatingly murky and stinking of death and decay in modern day Louisiana and the deep south of America.
