Really excited about Flash on the Beach this year. For the first time I am going for all three days. Thanks Lean Mean Fighting Machine!! Should be great. And have just seen a tweet from Lee Brimlow with a rather fantastic trailer for the upcoming event.
This brain wave powered toy takes the Star Wars force trainer product to the masses. I can’t believe that it has only taken 3 years for this product to hit the mass market. I saw this kind of tech back then being used on chimps to control a computer using the brain waves. It is already starting to filter into console gaming and won’t be long before we are using this as another way to interact with our devices. Unbelievable but true.
This fake iPhone commercial made me chuckle. It’s all to clear how careful you have to be these days with all this social network information floating around about your life. But clearly there are times when your little white lies catch up with you and cause problems in your relationship. Well now your iPhone comes to the rescue. At least that’s the case with this spoof iPhone ad featuring fake iPhone apps. It is very tongue in cheek and does highlight the value of some of the iPhone apps being made. It does seem like there is an app for everything these days.
Loving this print campaign for Stella
…and here’s the CBC logo that you can make out in the top photo…plagiarism???

I’m actually quite excited about this new version of the Facebook iPhone app. Looks like they’re finally getting it right. That tab that you scrolled at the top just really wasn’t working.
Unfortunately, this app is stuck in the Apple well of approval along with the exciting Spotify app (now in it’s third week of approval). Let’s hope Jobs et al deem it fit to grace our presence sometime soon. Here’s a gripe from a facebook developer who’s awaiting his app to be approved.
Hey I’m always happy with tools that make my life easier. Adding that extra touch with a well designed favicon has usually been an after thought. But now with this tool the process will be that much more enjoyable.
LEGO Stop-Motion Video [VIDEO].
My head hurts thinking about how long this must’ve taken (1500 hours) to make. Some serious dedication and planning went into this piece and the results are well worth it.
Is this another first in the AR world? A music video for Julian Perretta where you print out an image map and point it at your webcam. It’s similar to the GE work from a few months back but with a lot more animated features.
The Minority Report and Harry Potter worlds collide with this the first taste of future media prospects. This development was only a matter of time as the cost of cheap ultra-thin screens decrease. In time it will be cost effective to have these screens in more of our printed media. Someone may even suss out how to do a good digital newspaper soon, one that you can reload with content on a subscription basis. Maybe even from a news vendor on your way in. The success of the traditional print world most likely hinges on this.
